Answer» Hi There,
I need a script which backups the entire operating system.
I am new to Linux so dont really know much about it.
So any help will be helpfull! Do you really WENT a script? External hard drives are a good way to backup almost nay OS, including Linux based. But if your prefer, there are many backup programs for Linux. If your are new, a list of them all would just overwhelm you. I would recommend reading this: http://simplelinuxbkup.sourceforge.net/ The above explains the difference of using EITHER a program or a script. Nothing WRONG with using a script if you want. It is hour choice. A script controls the operation of some programs(s) that do the ACTUAL backup. So you may have to download a program recommenced in the article. Please read over the article I posted above. And come back here if it seems to be too much. I was looking for back up software as well and this sounds a great suggestion. Thanks guys!
