I'm running Windows XP and Internet Explorer browser. My question is:


ive tried searching the forum before posting this message...even though its really bugging me, I found a few posts but none of them actually had anything helpful on they were uncompleted. So any help is greatly APPRECIATED.

What do I need to do to stop the browser from closing everytime? it doesnt do it on every website, only ones that need to open a browser when I click on a link.

Legitimate copy of Windows?

it sounds like your browser has been hijacked, which causes the behavour, if you are going to certain websites they can be banned by the hijacker and the browser will not load the web pages.
download and install UPDATE, the free version of asquared, asquared hijackFree

and avg free spyware/mallware tool (30days trial free anyway,
then run them in safe mode.
you might have to do the download on another computer as the hjjacker could stop the download happening,
Thanks for the helpguys. My computer was bought new so it should be a legitimate version of windows. I already have AVG free edition on my computer. Is there anything else I can do?


Also, how do I find out what version of internet exploere ive GOT and how do I update it?Open IE and GO to Help --> About Internet Explorer.
That will tell you what version you have.
As for updates, open IE and go to Tools --> Windows Update and follow the instructions.
