Answer» Hello, I've just recently taken over a new linux BOX and ran into a problem today. The system load was up to 70 at times with user/system process load very low when doing an sar. Idle TIME was up into the 90's. Anyway ... I found that the swap the system was running was sized at 300Megs on a machine that has 1 gig of memory.
After rebooting, the load leveled off and I was able to spend some time looking around. I then went to create a new swap file using Unfortunately, this took my /home directory to 100%.
I'd now like to "undo" what I've done. Is this POSSIBLE? When I try it now, I get an invalid ARGUEMENT response. I've tried swapoff /dev/sdb3.
Please tell me this is possible to undo. Uugh!
Thanks.
