Answer» HI I just bought an eeepc 900a because im travelling and wanted something cheap to use for internet surfing. The eeepc came with linux, which is absolutely new to me. I knew that it only had a 4 gb harddrive, but i didnt REALIZE that 3.5 gb were alrady occupied when i turned it on for the first time. The pc comes with a lot of games i dont WANT, so i tried deleting them. The 'add/REMOVE program' option couldnt help, so i tried by commands. When i finally found the right directory and i tried to remove these game i recieved following feedback:
RM: cannot remove 'ppracer': Read-only file system
Is there anyway for me to get rid of all these games?
Please know that i had never ever worked with commands (not even DOS on my other pc) before today, so i NEED good explanations or links. Thank you Well, now i figured out to "su" to root-user so it no longer complains when i "rm" the games i talked about. The problem is it doesn't free any space on the hard drive. How come? plz help
