Answer» Ok, I have a few kinda older games that I play. Painkiller, battlefront 2, path of neo are the games that I have that are freezing up. Now, I have just upgraded. EVERYTHING went well I haven't had any other problems. I can play any new game out no problem. I have quake 4, DOOM 3, and F.E.A.R. All run flawlessly. But everytime I play Path of Neo or Painkiller it freezes up for about 30 secs. and I get the sound skiping thing. I have done everything I know to do up and down graded drivers, bought dual channel ram. put in fans out the you know what and, even uninstalled and took out my sound card. I have no anti virus programs running when I play games. Nothing I do seems to help. I thought it was my cpu overheating so I've ordered a new and better heatsink and fan. But, I don't think thats the problem anymore as my cpu never gets above 60c. My specs are below. Any Thoughts WOULD be great!!!

Which operating system are you using? Are the games compatible with this operating system?
FlameYeah, it's Windows XP ProAre the games compatible with XP? Are there any game patches online?
Flameyeah I've updated all the patches that are out now.How old are these games? What were the recommended sytem requirements when realeased? Do you just have too much horsepower?painkiller is windows 98 and above, 2.2GHz 512 ram geforce 5700 or better. Path of neo is windows xp 1.8 Ghz 512 ram geforce 5200 or better Battlefront 2 is windows xp Amd 1500+ 256 ram geforce 6 & 7 onlyIt's your graphics card.. if its OC'ed, tune it down in system bios because that card wasn't meant to be used to play low end games, it has DX9, and all the new features in the G7 line. You can tune down your card and turn of the SETTINGS by using the software u installed with the card, its like a 50mb folder full of options..
BTW.. if u got that card, why not just play better games??the card is stock as the rest of my system, never and will never be overclocked. And the reason is that I have beat all my newer games. I'm just trying to play the ones I haven't beat. I'll try underclocking tho and post back when I can! Thanks for the Idea
BTW Mannard rocks!
The card was overclocked by EVGA not me. So, I underclocked it . So far so good! Thanks
