Answer» i have a 80's model hp used for COORDINATE measuring machine umess software. the hp software is unix. i cant get out of single user mode to bring up my umess software. i have tried different commands to get out of it. it also says warning: /etc/inittab is corrupt. please if any one can help, i need it.I've never heard of umess software before. What is it? What do you use it for? Why do you need it? If it's from the 80s, you might be able to FIND something to replace it that is newer technology. I don't think many of us here are very familiar with unix. We MAINLY work with linux. I'll still try to help you as much as I can though.
