Answer» Hello,
LET me sum up my problem:
About a month ago I was experiencing recurring problems connecting to the Internet. I called my Internet Service Provider and my computer manufacturer, both of whom took me through Router tests, Reinstalling Windows, Unplugging/Replugging Internet cables, Installing New Network Card, etc.
Eventually I reinstalled Windows XP and I seemed to be able to connect to the Internet fine. Now my Internet connection is sluggish again. I have connection, but it's much slower than it should be.
I feel like tech support at Dell and Verizon Fios, my Internet provider, will have nothing more to say to me if I call them again. Awhile back, I had also received the message "LAN connection: A network CABLE is unplugged" in the right HAND corner of my screen, which has GONE away for the most part now but which was there in the past.
What is this problem and how can I get my Internet back once and for all?
THANK you.Unplug the power cable from your router and modem. Wait about 30 seconds and plug in your modem first. Wait until the ready light is solid and then plug in your router. Once you are able to connect again, run a speed test to see exactly what speeds you are getting.
