Solve : temporary internet files??

Answer»

hi there. i have a quick question about the temporary internet files that are found by first going to i.e. internet options, then selecting 'settings' for temp. internet files (on general tab), and finally view files. (i'm trying to be as specific as possible so you'll know EXACTLY what i'm asking about.)

ANYWAY, i've noticed that all websites i've visited, even ones i've deleted from i.e.'s history view, are stored in that folder.

my question is: are the only sites stored in there the ones that i've CLICKED ON (accessed knowingly).. or are sites from ads (NOT clicked on / directly accessed) stored as well? for example, if i went to abc.com and an ad for xyz.com was on that site BUT I DIDN'T CLICK ON it, would xyz.com appear in the aforementioned temp int. files folder?

hopefully someone can help. THANKS a million in advance.

p.s. i understand that i can clean that area up with disk cleanup, but the reason i'm asking is to find out if certain websites were viewed intentionally or not by someone else.only websites.......delete history delelte files.....use disk clean up

thank you for responding. i totally understand about disk cleanup.. but here's the thing. i'm trying to figure out if someone was viewing certain websites intentionally or not. which is why i was wondering if websites from ads not directly accessed / clicked on would be in there. i hope i'm making a bit more sense, haha.those flsah banners ads....or normal ads are part of the html web script.....if you wish to clean your ie out....third-party SOFTWARE like webwasher etc......will clean it all up...Take a note of some of the sites, then clear the cache and go BACK & visit the sites.
Then check if there are any 'extras' in there if you know what I mean.
