Solve : The best RPG of all time...? |
|
Answer» I've never really liked any Warcraft game. The whole fantasy aspect just falls apart in a RTS setting, since the rules don't necessarily need to follow logic. whereas other RTS games such as C&C and AOE, actually need to create something that makes sense in the context. AOE I is my favourite game, played II & III but they do not give me the buzz that 1 did. Love it. Quote from: BC_Programmer on March 25, 2009, 08:14:35 AM I've never really liked any Warcraft game. Never understood it either... you dont have too its much like Final Fantasy in a way. Like moogles and chocobo's you shouldnt have to get it just for the fun of it right?1. Final Fantasy VII 2. Final Fantasy VIII 3. Chrono Trigger 4. The Legend Of Zelda: The Adventure Of Link (did you know there are 14 Zelda games!) 5. Legend of Dragoon I love this thread! Especially because people are mentioning RPG elements and I have to make an RPG game in XNA & C# as my college final.. I think I'm going to write a thread about it! Quote from: Treval on March 21, 2010, 03:18:09 AM 3. Chrono TriggerChrono Trigger is one of my all time favourites. Heck, I even got the actual game off ebay instead of just playing it through emulation. Quote 4. The Legend Of Zelda: The Adventure Of Link (did you know there are 14 Zelda games!)yep! that's one of the shunned ones, but it's one of the greatest as well. it mixes RPG and action at least as good, of not better then it's predecessor, and maybe it's successor (Link to the past... (unless you count Links awakening)). Ocarina of Time is a great game but sometimes I think it might be overrated simply because of the "nostalgia" sentiments. I'm not sure how popular Majora's Mask is (I didn't like it AT ALL at first, but I've come to like it at least as much as OOT, if not more so). Recently beat both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on my Gamecube (never played them before, since N64 was kind of the time I "grew out of" consoles (translation: my mother sold them )). They were alright, and Twilight Princess is pretty good too. Quote from: Treval on March 21, 2010, 03:18:09 AM Especially because people are mentioning RPG elements and I have to make an RPG game in XNA & C# as my college final. I wrote a engine ages ago for an text-based RPG game. It mostly worked... I can't remember why I stopped working on it, actually. Nuts.. I just cheked my snes9x emulator and I'm actually playing The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the past. =P I like this game so much! .. even though I've just started playing a Zelda game for the first time in my life, because.. I've Googled top 25 SNES games =P lol! I remember that it was printed on the back of my original SNES box! Quote I "grew out of" consoles (translation: my mother sold them ))LMAOLMAOLMAO =PQuote from: Treval on March 21, 2010, 09:33:22 AM Nuts.. I just cheked my snes9x emulator and I'm actually playing The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the past. =P heh, when I recieved my copy of the A Link to the past in the mail I played it immediately and was at the last dungeon when I saved and quit, but when I started it the saves were gone for some reason the battery contact wasn't touching the battery, so I opened it up and fixed it and then beat it again. Although I had beaten the game loads of TIMES on the real system before I didn't realize it was possible to beat it so quickly; seemed more "epic" at the time, I guess. Good times though, since I remember having to beat the ice dungeon boss with a half a heart. As far as I'm aware the SNES is the only system that only had a single Zelda game made for it; NES had the first one and Adventure of Link, N64 had OoT and Majora's Mask, Gamecube had Wind Waker and Twilight princess, etc. Quote I remember that it was printed on the back of my original SNES box! I want to say it was a launch title, but I'm not 100% sure. I know I was able to acquire one of the other launch titles, F-Zero, still in box with the plastic on it, for 8 dollars.... and yet chrono trigger was 70 bucks and that was just the cartridge. And if I ever want Earthbound (this is another great RPG game on the SNES, BTW) I better save around 150 dollars. This is for you Zelda fans out there: Zelda Timeline Youtube video p.s.: I'm going to see if I can get Earthbound. Thanks for the tip!Quote from: Treval on March 21, 2010, 12:14:52 PM This is for you Zelda fans out there: this will be good to show those weird folks who call majora's mask "Zelda 2" they make me angry for some reason. Quote p.s.: I'm going to see if I can get Earthbound. Thanks for the tip! It's unconventional and even downright strange, but I guess that's why I like it myself. I have a friend who loves RPG games and hates Earthbound, though, so it's not for everyone. Won't know until you try it. I've just played Earthbound. Got annoyed by the large number namecalling (if you know what I mean). Had to rofl at the intro. =P Here's a little screenshot of the start of my game (please tell me if the screenshot is too offensive. =P): earthbound early game Final Fantasy 7 and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Trev, old son, it's offensive that you couldn't stretch your brain to come up with a better name for your female character.I always thought calling people swears and stuff was something preteens did, lol. LOOK, MORON is talking to JERKFACE! hahaha" in not PARTICULAR order chrono trigger chrono cross final fantasy 7 final fantasy tactics legend of mana chocobo's dungeon kingdom hearts Disgaea series |
