Answer» So this is my first time building a computer/installing Ubuntu so help me out a bit. I'd try another cd. I did the first one didnt verify right when it burned but I tried it anyway and it gave me those problems. Then I burned a new one and it verified ok and still did the same thing. The Welcome menu doesnt look like as its depicted on the ubuntu website either, its a lot more bare bone. Also when it switches the monitor from analog to digital the lights on my LED keyboard flash.Do you have another cd burner that you can USE to burn a fresh disk? What program are you using to burn the disk? Where did you GET the iso? Have you tried downloading a fresh copy?
