Solve : Ubuntu + internet?

Answer»

Hi there, I have installed the newest version of UBUNTU but a have a problem: I can't connect to the internet. I only have an connection with the installed pc by a WIRELESS usb adapter (from g-link) and I think it doesn't work because I can NEVER find a place to insert my wep-key. Does anyone knows how I connect to my router/internet :-? (by the way, it isn't the fould of my hardware, because a few weeks ago I got still windows on it and there was no problem with connecting)

Blackberry You need to check the manufacturer's site first of all to see if they have released a driver for Linux. After that Google for linux + driver + the name/model number of your hardware. Sometimes it can be a bit of a search, but probably someone has WRITTEN a driver for this.D-Link + Linux has historically been a problem for wireless cards, although some of the newer releases do work. The problem is with D-Link who do not release drivers, and constantly change the chipset without any kind of notification. This is the danger of the Window-centric world.
