Answer» ok, i have ubuntu 12.04 (which i am having several problems with, such as jack crashing after a while, and not being able to reconnect to jack server, system issues (the weird pop up saying ubuntu has ran into a critical error) and many others)
It all worked fine until now, however.
Jack works fine, just that the system audio CONTROL does not control the volume.
Secondly, alsa does not Emmet audio at all, and when playing any media in any sort of form (music in banshee, rhythmbox, audacious, audacity, LMMS, video on you tube, or otherwise) the media is fast-forwarded (aka, you tube videos that are 20 mins become like, 5, and music does the same thing)
This is really wierding me out, as this seems SCREWED UP BAD, but i am STILL being able to use it for stuff in jack. The volume is a big issue however, because my mixer and speakers peak out because the volume is stuck at maximum.
This started when i was using the standard audio kernel, but i have upgraded to the ubuntu studio real time kernel, and this problem still exists. THINKING about either re-installing ubuntu 11.10, or ubuntu studio 11.10 (did not like studio before, because i am used to the regular layout and like it better in plain ubuntu)Another thing i am wondering is if i should just use a copy of windows XP for my music work, as most good music programs are for windows/mac, like reason, traktor, FLStudio, and even LMMS seems to work better in windows, even though it claims to be LINUX Multimedia Studio This is a picture of the error, It is very generic
well, im going over to windows for my media production now. so this is not really needed, although if someone knows whats up with the generic error, then please do say Anything in /var/log/messages?
