Answer» Hi, I am running I.E.8 and just downloaded Firefox as I was told it might help. Id does not. When I try to open Google (.co or .co.uk) it will not open and I get Page 404. However I can open Google.es but as I don't speak SPANISH it is not a lot of help. I have run IObot Malware, Avast, Spybot and Q.C. but all tell me I am clean. Any thoughts please? When I use the Search on Firebox, which is powered by Google, it works but I cannot OPEN the Google site even from Firebox.Try http://www.google.com/ncr
Clearing your DNS cache might help too: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/233/clear_windows_dns_cache/
Alternatively you can right-click on your internet connection and select "Repair."Thanks. Tried the link. No connection. Computer checked the connection..OK
Cleared the Cache. Cleared OK. No difference. Rebooted the Router...No difference.
Thanks for you time in replying. Pete.Try another DNS.
Quote What is Google Public DNS? Google Public DNS is a free, GLOBAL Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider. To try it out: Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers or Read our configuration instructions. New! For IPv6 addresses, see our configuration instructions. If you decide to try Google Public DNS, your client programs will PERFORM all DNS lookups using Google Public DNS. Why does DNS matter? The DNS protocol is an important part of the WEB's infrastructure, serving as the Internet's phone book: every time you visit a website, your computer PERFORMS a DNS lookup. Complex pages often require multiple DNS lookups before they start loading, so your computer may be performing hundreds of lookups a day.
Have you tried accessing the domain from within google language tools?
