Fedora has also a default utility for that which is called "Fedora Live USB Creator" (See https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/). I think that same applies to Ubuntu, which comes with a similar utility. uNetbootin is an excellent choice as well and you've nothing to lose. Go ahead, install it, play with it. It works pretty well and can be used with most Linux Distributions and other free OSes.

Yep. I use it all the time.
