How to retrieve a received email that has vanished, even though I have not deleted it?

I have been to "All Mail", but I couldn't TRACE it either.

I am on Windows 10 and G-Mail.

Thanks in advance for your help.

JoeBProbably a silly question but assume you have ALSO CHECKED TRASH folder
