Answer» Well that worked with no problems... How is FIREFOX "safe mode" different than regular mode?Quote from: Broni on January 01, 2010, 07:01:51 PM However, the strange THING is, that "ping" gives you an error and you say IE has no problem... PING only gave me an error when I did: PING www.mozilla.com I get replys back if I ping other sites...That means, some add-on is playing games with you. Restart FF in normal mode, disable all add-ons, restart FF. Keep enabling add-ons one-by-one, restarting FF each time until you'll find the culprit. Main suspects - toolbars.Quote I get replys back if I ping other sites...I SEE. Always try google.com - the SAFEST bet.Quote from: Broni on January 01, 2010, 07:06:05 PM That means, some add-on is playing games with you. ah ha! Will give this a test run thx sir wait a sec... I don't use any add-ons in FF, I just realized that.... At least, I don't see any that are enabled? Are you talking about Plug-ins ?No, no plug-ins.... Safe Mode is a debugging startup mode where all added extensions are DISABLED, the default theme is used, and default localstore settings (localstore.rdf stores customized data on the interface, such as toolbar customizations, window positions and sizes, and tree sort orders) are used. Download FoxScan from HERE, or HERE Double click on FoxScan.exe to start the scan. DOS-like window will pop-up. Press 2 for English. Press Enter. Be patient. It'll take few minutes. When the tool is done, it'll display: Search completed. Press any key to coninue... Press any key. Notepad window titled Rapport-FS.txt will open. Save the file to known location, and attach it to your next reply.here oops.............I uploaded it twice [Saving space, attachment deleted by admin]Close FF. Go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions and delete {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} folder. See, if it helps.I'll do that and try it out for a few days....and post back thx sirYou're welcome |
