Solve : Which Browser is the Best??

Answer»

I guess everyone has their own favorite...but is there a browser that's better than Internet Explorer?Or will I just be wasting my time on any others'? I've tried Mozilla Firefox on my old computer and it "seemed" faster,but I couldn't say for sure.Now that I have a new computer(well,it's 2 months old)..I want to go the best route.
Oh,I'm running Windows 7,but I'm not sure about all the other stuff that the first (tacked) post says to put.(sorry)
IE seems OK,but if there is a better one,I'd like to change.
Thanks
TamraThere is no best. Whatever you like is best. Install a few and make your own decision. The most popular are IE8, Firefox, Opera and Safari. I have all 4 installed on most systems but IE8 is my personal choice.Another one is Google's Chrome, which has been gaining in popularity, according to http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp. They all have some different features. It's really a matter of personal preference.

I've been using Firefox as my default browser. I like it's handling of passwords, it's way of saving passwords; also, many add-ons are available for Firefox. For example, I have ColorfulTabs installed. With it, my browser tabs are different colors and I have the option to set a certain color for certain websites.In order to conduct a detailed comparison. http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/a-new-era-of-browser-speedThe Best Ultimate Browser is the one you use...They are all free. I usually use Firefox, but I've also got IE8, Chrome, Opera, and Safari.

Like it has been stated several times, it's all a matter of personal preference. Just download several and see which one you like. Unless, you are really tight on HD space, none of the browsers really take up that much space, and if you just got a new computer, I'm guessing you have plenty of free HD space

You will also find out that some browsers work better on some sites than others.

One advantage of having several browsers, is that if you are having a problem on a particular site, you can try another browser to see if it works better.I LOVE chrome! It fast, light, and very streamlined. There are no stupid TOOLBARS to slow you down, everything you NEED is right there and all the fancy extras are hidden in drop down menus and buttons. It is very bare basic but its fast and very clean. Firefox is great too but it takes forever to open and it just feels bulky and slows down the computer. I like things very clean and small and not many gagets on it so chrome suits me. Firefox is great for the extra addons and cool stuff you can do with it, but if you just want to surf the internet with no problems, Chrome is the way to go.Thanks so much for all the ideas.I wonder which one is the most resource hogger?
I'm pretty much gona stay w/ anything linked to Google...since I SEEN this hour long show about Google on something like MSNBC News or something to that effect,I was shocked at how their MAIN office is run and how Google is doing soooo many smart things...has anybody else seen that special that I'm referring to?
So I'm thinking MAYBE I'll try Google Chrome or....?
But after watching that show about Google,I was amazed! Can't explain it...you'd have to just see it to see what I mean
Thanks for all the help!! ;-}

I use SRWare Iron: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php
It's BASICALLY Google Chrome, except it doesn't have spyware.

EDIT: You can also install all the Google Chrome addons on SRWare Iron.Quote from: wohonajax on March 04, 2010, 04:23:17 PM
