Solve : Windows Media Player on websites not working??

Answer»

So, Im trying to use this website that will allow me to listen to live radio.

The problem is the website requires me to use their player OR windows media player. Neither one works.

With windows media player. The play button is grayed but the stop button isnt. So I press the stop button, GIVE it some time, and press play.

And what do you know? Nothing happens, it just grays the play and make the stop clickable again.

So what do I do to start listening?

Im using internet explorer btw.

Safari doesnt work either.Get Firefox and see, if same thing happens.Just tested.

Same problem. In Firefox, go Tools>Add-ons>Plugin tab
See, if Microsoft Windows Media Player plugin is listed.

If not, get it here: http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

If it's listed, download and reinstall it over the top anyway.

I got mine corrupted recently. It was listed, but it didn't want to work. Reinstalled over the top and it fixed the issue.I have just tried that. No changes.Follow this site and it might help you : http://zachd.com/pss/pss.htmlDidnt help.

Thanks anyway Jason.Exactly what website are you talking about here?http://www.onlineradiostations.com/radio-stations/usa/new-york/rochester/wfxf-95.1-fm-the-fox-classic-rock-music/details.htmlIt's not an issue with your computer. It's an issue with the website. They give you three options for listening: WMP, Real Player, or their own Online Radio (OR) Media Player. The links for both WMP and Real Player are grayed out, probably because they want to push people to use their proprietary player.

There is nothing we can do to help you with this. I looked around and all stations on that site are like that. You should contact them and ask why:
http://www.onlineradiostations.com/contact/It won't play for me in Firefox (after very long loading).
In IE, it asks me to enable WMP, which is already enabled.
In Opera, it never fully loads

I'd assume, it's something wrong with that page.Quote from: BRONI on September 30, 2010, 07:02:08 PM

Can you actually click on them? It won't even let me. I'm getting the same issue Will is.Quote

Nope.Well thats the thing, I can click on CERTAIN buttons on the WMP. The OR player has no buttons I can click. And I cant even click to go to the Real Player (Probably cause I dont have). On WMP, it lets me press Play, but not a *censored* thing happens, it just grays out play and makes Stop clickable, like if it was really going to play.

But nothing happens.

I got worried that it was my internet, unfortunatly my mp3 player is broken and I normally listen to the Bob & Tom show.

Trying to LOOK for an alternative free route and saw this website in a google search. It works here: http://www.fox951.com/main.html
