Answer» I am having a problem with my wi-fi connection. I got new service INSTALLED in my place, with a password any every time I try to connect after entering the password and all the details my lap top failed to connect. My wife lap top is fine. My lap top connected successful to all the wi-fi NET work in the airports and hotels. I am having this problem only in my house. Previously I use to have different internet provider and it was perfectly connected with no problem at all. My lap top is Toshiba- Satellite U505 Model. I have tried to use different browsers Google chrome, fire fox, explorer same result. One more thing when I connect my laptop through the wire to the same router it works fine...Any help will be appreciated . Good morning Beta and welcome to CH
It sounds like you are trying to connect using the wrong network protocol.
What I mean is there is different wireless security levels. There is WEP, WPA, WPA2 etc what is your operating system most of those models came with Windows 7 is that what you have?
If Toshiba is still using the configfree manager or it is windows wireless connection you just select your home wireless network connection and put in the pass-phrase / network password. A LOT of cable companies do not have you put in a user name and password unless you have a DSL internet connection.
Hopefully this helps, please let us know if we can be of any more service. Mike Thanks Mike for your reply, it is Win7 that I am using correct. but I could not follow your step clearly as when I select my home wirless net work every thing looks fine, it did not ask for a password. See snap shots
The image is too small to read...Try downloading MiniToolBox by Farbar while currently established a connection from your computer. Run the program and checkmark all options. Copy PASTE the result on your next reply.First try via the command prompt to release and renew the IP maybe it could be conflicting. ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew i also face this type of problem.thanks for the post.
