Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : 4√2

Given:

The sum of the digits of a two-digit number = 12

The difference between the two digits of the number = 4

Calculations:

Let the two digits of the number be x and y respectively

⇒ x + y = 12      ----(i)

⇒ x – y = 4      ----(ii)

Adding (i) and (ii),

⇒ 2x = 16

⇒ x = 8

Substituting the value of x in (i),

⇒ 8 + y = 12

⇒ y = 4

The square root of the product of two digits = √(xy)

⇒ √(8 × 4)

⇒ √32

⇒ 4√2

∴ The square root of the product of the two digits of the number is 4√2
