Answer» The afferent and efferent arterioles are present in the kidney. Afferent arteriole is a branch of renal vein that brings blood containing nitrogenous wastes to the nephrons for purification. It branches into a number of capillaries (glomeruli) and joins back to form efferent arteriole. Efferent arteriole is a branch of renal artery that takes the purified blood back to the heart from where it is pumped back to the tissues.Normally, the afferent arteriole is broader and of a larger diameter than the efferent arteriole to enable the malpighian body develop a pressure condition that aids in filtration. Afferent arteriole brings blood to the glomerulus . Efferent arteriole takes blood away from the glomerulus. |
