What are the function of glomerulus

Answer» A glomerulus is a tuft or bunch of capillary that performs the first step in filtering blood to form urine. It is surrounded by Bowman \'s capsule in nephrons of the vertebrate kidney. The blood enters into it through an afferent arteriole and drains out of it through efferent arteriole. A glomerulus and Bowman \'s capsule constitute a renal corpuscle, the basic filtration unit of the kidney. It performs the first step in filtration and helps to remove excess fluids and soluble material from blood that is collected in the Bowmen \'s capsule.
