What are the problems caused by the non biodegradable wastes that we generate ?? |
|
Answer» If all the waste we generate is biodegradable, this\xa0would\xa0also have an impact on the environment but most of the impacts\xa0would\xa0be positive. After decomposition, the\xa0biodegradable\xa0substance produces different raw materials which are sent back to the ecosystem.\xa0Biodegradable material contains food waste like vegetable and fruit peels, dead plants and animals, egg shells, chicken, garden waste paper materials, etc. Non-biodegradable things include of\xa0plastics, polystyrene,\xa0plastic, metals, and aluminum cans, toxic chemicals, paints, tyres, etc. The non-biodegradable waste that we generate has the following problems on environment:1. Non biodegradable wastes like pesticides\xa0reduce the fertility of soil\xa0as\xa0they penetrate into it. The pH level of the soil becomes unsuitable for vegetation.2.\xa0Non biodegradable wastes like pesticides get accumulated progressively at each trophic level and thus harm the organisms.3. Non-biodegradable materials like plastics on burning releases toxic chemicals into the environment which leads to air pollution. |
