Answer» Villi refers to the numerous finger like projections on the inner wall of small intestine which help in the absorption of digested nutrients into circulatory system by increasing the surface area of absorption. Each villus has a lymph vessel and a blood vessel, out of which fatty acids and glycerols are absorbed in lymph while glucose and amino acids are absorbed in the blood.
