What do you mean by lenticular transpiration |
| Answer» Lenticular transpiration is the type of transpiration which occurs through the small pores called as lenticels present in the bark. It constitutes about 15%-20% of total transpiration. It occurs throughout the day and night. Lenticels are horizontal striations which occur between the dead cells of the periderm. These are dead and are exterior to bark. As the layer above the bark is dead, these lenticels help in the exchange of gases through dead areas.\xa0 | |
