What is dual nature of the light

Answer» Dual nature of Electro-magnetic radiation suggests that the electro-magnetic radiations are both particle and wave in nature. This theory helps us to predict many properties of the atoms on the basis of their structures. This can be explained on the basis of refraction, diffraction, interference of light ( showing wave nature ) and photoelectric effect and black body radiation ( showing particle nature of light ).For example, wave nature of electro-magnetic radiations can help us in understanding the wavelength, frequency of the radiations emitted by atoms and the particle nature of electro-magnetic radiations can explain black-body radiation, photoelectric effect, variation of heat capacity of solids and line spectra of atoms and all these are characteristic of a particular atom and depend on the structure of the atom.
