Answer» Saponification - it is the process in which there is an alkaline hydrolysis of ester & it gives the formation of soap, sodium salt of acid & alcohol ( glycerol ) Esterification - when ethanoic acid is allowed to rect with ethanol it gives formation of ester and this process of formation of ester is esterification On reacting with alkali,NaOH,easter gives the ethanol back and a sodium salt of carboxylic acid.
