Answer» The sun being hot produces infrared radiation of shorter wavelength when this radiations fall on earth earth absorbs it and then re-emits it.The earth being cooler emits radiations of longer wavelength. These radiations are absorbed by the green house gases such as CO2, water vapour,Methane etc.Due to this the temperature of earth rises. The increase in temperature of earth due to increase in concentration of carbon dioxide is known as global warming
