What is plasma?

Answer» It is the liquid part of the blood in which blood cells are suspended. It is colourless liquid with up to 90% of water . It consists of water , protein, waste, hormone, salt . It is responsible for the transportation of digested food , hormones, waste and maintain haemostatis
It is the extra cellular fluid of blood constituting about 55 percent of the blood volume. It is faint yellow coloured viscous fluid, which is alkaline in nature. Plasma contains 91-92%water, 7 % proteins, 0.9% inorganic salts, 0.1% glucose and the rest includes various other organic and inorganic substances.
