What is the main difference between artery and vein?

Answer» ARTERIES:-*Arteries have thick and elongating walls*Arteries carry blood away from heart (oxygeneted blood)*presence of BPVEINS:-*Veins are thin walled*Carries blood to heart (deoxygeneted blood)*Valves ensures the movement of blood to one direction
Arteri pumps blood from heart to various parts of bodyVeins pumps blood from various parts of body to heart
1.) Aetries carry oxygenated blood from heart to the different parts of the body. But in case of viens it carry deoxygenated blood from different body parts back to the heart.2.) In artery Blood flows under high pressure. But in vien Blood flows under low pressure.3.) Atreis have thick and elastic wall. But wall of vien is thin and non elastic as compared to artery.4.) Arteries are usually positioned deeper within the body. But Veins are usually positioned closer beneath the surface of the skin.5.) Artery doesn\'t contain valve as the pressure from the heart is so strong that ghe blood is only able to flow in one direction. But viens contain valve to prevent the backward flow of blood.6.) Ateries do not have blood but viens are filled with blood even after death.
Arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the body, and veins carry oxygen-poor blood back from the body to the heart.
Artery is thick and vein is thin
