What is the meaning of variation in biology |
|
Answer» Thanks for your answer Variation is the change in characters or traits of an individual which has not existed in their parents.Variations can be of many types. If mutation occurs, there is a sudden change in the number or structure of genes or chromosomes. This change lasts generation after generation. For example, in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, the structure of genes of people changed. This is lasting till now. Moreover in disasters like Radioactive leakage, mutations can occur.Variations lead to Evolution. This fact has lead to development of humans from ape. Variation, in biology, any difference between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species caused either by genetic differences (genotypic variation) or by the effect of environmental factors on the expression of the genetic potentials (phenotypic variation).... hope it would be helpful✌ |
