What is the relation between Direction and Electric current.????? |
| Answer» The\xa0direction of\xa0an\xa0electric current\xa0is by convention the\xa0direction\xa0in which a positive\xa0charge\xa0would move. Thus, the\xa0current\xa0in the external\xa0circuit\xa0is directed away from the positive terminal and toward the negative terminal\xa0of\xa0the battery. Electrons would actually move through the wires in the opposite\xa0direction.\xa0By convention,\xa0current\xa0is assumed to travel from positive to negative\xa0direction. The electrons travel from negative to positive. The\xa0direction\xa0of\xa0current\xa0is not the same as\xa0direction\xa0of\xa0flow\xa0of electrons; they are opposite. | |
