Answer» When aluminium is react with ferrous oxide then aluminium oxide with energy and iron (in melted form ) are formed this is known as thermite reaction Thank you... Aluminothermy is also known as thermite reaction. Reaction of aluminium metal with ferric oxide is only the thermite reaction. It exerta a lot of heat during this reaction. The process of igniting Aluminium and Ferric oxide is called thermite reaction. This is an exothermic reaction. Iron obtained in this process is in molten state. Fe₂O₃ (s) + Al (s) →Al₂O₃ + 2 Fe(l) + Heat Thermite reaction used for the welding of rails (joining metals) called as thermite welding. |
