What is villi what are its function ? |

Answer» Villi are the finger like projection on the lining of small intestine. Help in increasing surface area for absorption of nutrients. Tiny fingers like projection on the wall of small intestine as well as large intestine.It\'s function is to absorb nutrients eaten by us after digestion process completed in stomach finger like structure whih is present in the small intestine Finger like projections on walls of stomach Villi are hair-like structures present on the inner surface of our intestine. Their function is to absorb nutrients from the food and transport it to all the cells of the body. They have blood vessels present in them that helps them in transportation of the nutrition. Villi in small intestine helps in ansorption of fats, carbs, protein, etc whereas villi in large intestine only absorbs excess water from the leftover matarial of small intestine. |
