Due to the oxidation of protien luciferin Fireflies body has a chemical reaction in their body . when the oxygen combines with calcium, ATP, and luciferin in presence of luciferase, a enzyme, then the light produce.Fire flies have a special kind of substance, i.e. luciferin that undergoes oxidation in the presence of air and an enzyme. This reaction is accompanied by emission of light.
