Why are coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal |
|
Answer» Because resistivity of alloy is more than a pure metal And at high temperature alloy doesn\'t burns so coils of toasters are made of alloy rather than a pure metal Coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal because the resistivity of an alloy is higher than the pure metal. Also at high temperatures, the alloys do not melt easily. The coils of electrical heating devices (eg: toaster and irons) are made of alloy because, they have high melting point , which helps them to sustain high temperature.Hope it helps you...... |
