Why freely suspended magnet come to rest in north-south direction |

Answer» when magnets are freely suspended and came to rest then there is no other force except magnetism is applied on that object .this magnetic force is due to earths rotation and this magnetic force is devided into two depending on poles and when a magnet came to rest than north pole attracts southern tip of magnet and south pole will attract northern tip of that following magnet Magnet which cause a freely suspended magnet to point always in a particular point:-North n south. The south pole of the earth\'s magnet is in the geographical north bcz it attracts the north - pole of the suspended magnet n vice versa.....:-) |
