Why in unsaturated compounds the first group is ethyne ??? It should be methyne ryt ??

Answer» It\'s because in unsaturated compounds their is double or triple bond which needs at least two carbon... Therefore the first group is ethene or ethyne
If u apply the general formula u will C1H2(1)-2. Thats why it starts with ethyene. Got it.
No for alkyne group must be needed 2 carbon atoms
