Answer» Abscisic acid is known as stress hormone because It produces plants from adsorbe condition like water stress . It increases tolerence of plant to various type of stress. Abscisic acid is present in the plants which checks whether the plant is healthy or not if not or over water supply it may lead to falling of leaves Abscisic acid is known as the stress hormone because of the following reasons :1. It helps plant to cope with adverse environmental conditions or stresses.\xa02. It causes temporary closure of stomata due to which there is reduction in the rate of transpiration.
