Why is mitochondria called the power house of the cell

Answer» Beacuse it produce energy in the form of atp..... (adenosine triphosphate).... Mitochondria is called the power of the house because it release ATP, a form of energy, due to this energy (ATP) the all of the work is done. And only mitochondria produce and release ATP no other cell organelle produce or release energy.......Hope my answer helps you. because energy is stored in form of ATP
