Why it is advised to clean magnesium ribbon before burning? |

Answer» It is advised because when magnesium kept in atmosphere then there would be layer of magnesium oxide which prevent it from burning so due to this we are advised to clean the magnesium ribbon before burnning it In order to remove the white layer of magnesium oxide from its surface which hinders burning of magnesium It is advice to clean mg ribbon before burning because mg react with oxygen and form magnesium oxide.To remove it we should clean it first |
