Why methene and methyne do not exist???

Answer» \tThe name Methane determines that the\xa0hydrocarbon\xa0is having only\xa0one carbon atom\xa0in its compound.\tIf a hydrocarbon has only\xa0one carbon atom\xa0it is impossible to form\xa0double or triple bonds\xa0in that hydrocarbon.\tTo form double bondage or triple bondage in the hydrocarbon there must be\xa02 carbon\xa0atoms in that hydrocarbon of least.\tBut we can have only one carbon in the hydrocarbons.\tSo there will be no Methene or Methyne existing on nature even if we alter or manipulate the compounds.
