Why safranin is used in staining sections of plants? |

Answer» safranin is used as a counterstain in some staning protocols,colouring all cell nucli red. Safranin is a dye which can be taken up by a cell and it gives a pink colour. The cell as well as the background is transparent and it is difficult to visualise the cells as such. Staining imparts colour the cell or its components and enhances its contrast and makes it easier to see the structure of the cells. |
