Why sulphurous acid is a reducing agent? |
|
Answer» We can\'t delete answers after posting. So bad Sulphurous acid is a reducing agent because of its tendency to lose electrons easily than its subsiding elements to another chemical substance in a redoxiation reaction. It is an reducing agent because it reduce water from alcohol to make it ehene. Its not a reducing agent in my knowledge ?? The bromide ions reduce the sulphuric acid to sulphur dioxide gas. This is a decrease of oxidation state of the sulphur from +6 in the sulphuric acid to +4 in the sulphur dioxide. |
