Why the bottom of tank filled with water is appeared to be raised???? |
|
Answer» The bottom appears raised for the same reason that a pencil / spoon appears bent in a glass of water. This occurs due to a phenomenon called REFRACTION. Air and water, both are mediums. The later being denser. As light passes from a thinner to a denser medium or vice versa, it bends. This creates the illusion of raised bottom, bent objets etc. Because of refraction |
