1.

Write. Sign convention of both mirror and lens

Answer» Object distance(both)=(-),Image distance(concave if image is left side)=(-),Image distance(conave image left side)=(+),Image distance(convex)=(+),focal length (concave)=(+),Focal length (convex)=(-),Hieght of object =(+) in both mirror,Hieght of image( when above the principal axis)=(+) in both,Height of image (when below the principal axis)=(-), in both,Virtual and erect =(+)In both,Real and inverted=(-) in both, .......................it is in the case of mirror but lense ka koi idea nahi h ye bhi ho sakta h same
Sign convention for lenses:1. All distances are measured from optical centres.2. The distance in the direction of incident ray is taken +ve and oppsite to the direction if incident ray is taken -ve.3. The distance above principal axis is taken +ve and below the principal axis is taken -ve
Sign convention for spherical mirror:1. All distances are measured from pole.2. The distances in the direction of incident ray is taken positive and opposite to the direction of incident ray is taken negative3. The distances above the principal axis is taken +ve and below the principal axis is taken -ve
