If sinA +2cosA=1 prove that 2sinA-cosA=2 |
| Answer» Given that Sin A + 2 cos A = 1Squaring on both sides, we get(sin A + 2 cos A)2 = 1We know that (a+b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab.(sin2 A + 4 cos2 A + 4 sin A cos A) = 14 cos2 A + 4 sin A cos A = 1 - sin2 A4 cos2 A + 4 sin A cos A = cos2 A3 cos2 A + 4 sin A cos A = 0 3 cos2 A = - 4 sin A cos A ---- (1).Given 2 sin A - cos ASquaring on both sides, we get(2 sin A - cos A)2 = 4 sin2 A + cos2 A - 4 sin A cos A = 4 sin2 A + cos2 A + 3 cos2 A = 4 sin2 A + 4 cos2 A = 4(sin2 A + cos2 A) = 4.2 sin A - cos A = 2.\xa0 | |

Hoe many 3 digit no. Are divisible by 7 |
| Answer» The first three digit number which is divisible by 7 is 105 and last three digit number which is divisible by 7 is 994.This is an A.P. in which a = 105, d = 7 and l = 994.Let the number of terms be n . Then tn = 994.nth term of A.P = tn = a + (n - 1)d.⇒ 994 = 105 + (n -1)7.⇒ 889 = 7(n-1)⇒ n -1 = 127∴ n = 128.∴ There are128 three digit numbers which are divisible by 7. | |

If the 3rd and the 9th terms of an AP are 4 and -8 respectively, which term of this AP is zero |
|
Answer» Given, a3 =4 and a9 = -8 a3 = a+2d = 4--------equation 1 a9 = a+8d = -8--------equation 2Subtracting equation 1 and 2We get, d = -2-------------equation 3Putting equation 3 in equation 1 a+2d = 4 a+2(-2) =4 a+4 =4 a= 4+4 a=8Now,a1 =8a2 =a+d =8+(-2) = 6a3 =a+2d=8+2 (-2) =4a4 =a+3d=8+3 (-2) =2a5 =a+4d=8+4 (-2) =0Hence the 5th term of an AP is 0 5 th term is zero |
