Why positive charge is collected on cathode and negative charge is collected on anode ? |
|
Answer» Bcoz unlike charges attract each other Because cathodis negative so positive charge attract on cathod and anode is positive so negative charge attract on anode because we know that opposite charges attract each other Because as we know that positive negative (unlike) charges attract each other. Same as for anode Cathod is negatively charged plate which attracts the positively charged particles as unlike charges attracts each other. |

Why are coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal |
|
Answer» Because resistivity of alloy is more than a pure metal And at high temperature alloy doesn\'t burns so coils of toasters are made of alloy rather than a pure metal Coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal because the resistivity of an alloy is higher than the pure metal. Also at high temperatures, the alloys do not melt easily. The coils of electrical heating devices (eg: toaster and irons) are made of alloy because, they have high melting point , which helps them to sustain high temperature.Hope it helps you...... |

The importance of mendals inheritance |
| Answer» Mendel proposed three laws:\tLaw of Dominance: This law states that in a heterozygous condition, the allele whose characters are expressed over the other allele is called the dominant allele and the characters of this dominant allele are called dominant characters. The characters that appear in the F1 generation are called as dominant characters. The recessive characters appear in the F2 generation.\tThe Law of Segregation:This law states that when two traits come together in one hybrid pair, the two characters do not mix with each other and are independent of each other. Each gamete receives one of the two alleles during meiosis of the chromosome. Mendel’s law of segregations supports the phenotypic ratio of 3:1 i.e the homozygous dominant and heterozygous offsprings show dominant traits while the homozygous recessive shows the recessive trait.\tLaw of independent assortment:This means that at the time of gamete formation, the two genes segregate independently of each other as well as of other traits. Law of independent assortment emphasizes that there are separate genes for separate traits and characters and they influence and sort themselves independently of the other genes. This law also says that at the time of gamete and zygote formation, the genes are independently passed on from the parents to the offspring. | |

What is the function of villi???? |
|
Answer» The small finger like structures present in the small intenstine is known as villi . It increase the surface area for absorption of food materials in small intenstine It;s means it have absorbing capicity . The small intestine has millions of tiny finger-like projections called villi. These villi increase the surface area for more efficient food absorption. Within these villi, are present numerous blood vessels which absorb the digested food and carry it to the blood stream. It is hence from the blood stream, the absorbed food is delivered to each and every cell of the body. The small intestine\'s main job is to absorb nutrients from the food you eat and that your villi help by increasing the surface area the intestine has for absorption. |

explain why respiration is exothermic reaction |
|
Answer» Energy is released Respiration is endothermic reaction beacuse energy is evolved in this process We all know that we need energy to stay live. We get this energy from food we eat. Duringh digestion, food is broken down into simpler substances. For example, rice, potato and bread contain carbohydrates. These carbohydrates are broken down to form glucose. This glucose combines with oxygen in the cell of our body and provides energy . |

Structure and function of human digestive system |
| Answer» Mouth: Food starts its journey from the mouth or the oral cavity. There are many other organs that contribute to the digestion process including teeth, salivary glands, and tongue. Teeth are designed to grind food particles into small pieces and are moistened with saliva before the tongue pushes the food into the pharynx.Pharynx: A fibromuscular y shaped tube attached to the terminal end of the mouth. It is mainly involved in the passage of chewed/crushed food from the mouth through the esophagus. It also has a major part in the respiratory system, as air travels through the pharynx from the nasal cavity on its way to the lungs.Esophagus: This is a muscular tube that connects the pharynx which is a part of an upper section of the gastrointestinal tract. It supplies swallowed food along with its length.Stomach: It serves as a muscular bag which is situated towards the left side of the abdominal cavity, beneath the diaphragm. This vital organ acts as a storage for the food and provides enough time to digest meals. The stomach also produces digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid that maintains the process of digestion.Pancreas: It is a larger gland present just inferior to the stomach. It is short with its head connected to the duodenum and tail pointing towards the left part of the abdominal cavity. The pancreas releases digestive enzymes to complete the process of chemical digestion.Small Intestine: A thin, long tube of about 10 feet long and a part of the lower gastrointestinal tract. It is present just behind the stomach and acquires a\xa0maximum area of the abdominal cavity. The complete small intestine is coiled and inner surface consists of folds and ridges.Large Intestine: This is a thick, long tube measuring around 5 feet in length. It is present just beneath to the stomach and wraps over the superior and lateral edges of the small intestine. It absorbs water and consists of bacteria (symbiotic) that support in the break down of wastes to fetch small nutrients.Waste products are passed through the large intestine and eliminated out of the body as a solid matter called stool. | |

| Answer» Current | |

Why should the resistance of:(a) an ammeter be very small ?(b) a voltmeter be very large ? |
| Answer» An\xa0ammeter\xa0has to measure to current flowing through the circuit. Resistance offers an obstruction to the current flow. So, if the resistance of an ammeter is large , the current measured by the ammeter will be quite less as compared to the actual amount of current flowing through the circuit which is undesirable. If ammeter has\xa0zero resistance\xa0, then it will give the exact value of current. But this is not practically possible because every material has some value of\xa0internal resistance\xa0which we can\'t control. For this reason , ammeter must have small resistance.Voltmeters\xa0are put in parallel with the load in order to measure the\xa0potential differencebetween two *different* points.\xa0If they are in parallel with the load, then at the first junction the current will split and flow into both paths (Kirchhoff\'s Laws). However, if current is flowing through the voltmeter, then it is not all flowing through the load, and the potential difference across the load would change when the voltmeter is added and removed. This is unfavourable. Therefore, the voltmeter must have a very high resistance so that current doesn\'t flow through it. | |

What are artificial kidney and how do they work |
| Answer» An artificial kidney is a device to remove nitrogenous waste products from the blood through dialysis. Artificial kidneys contain a number of tubes with a semi- permeable lining, suspended in a tank filled with dialysing fluid. The patients blood is passed through these tubes. During this passage, the wastes productsfrom the blood pass into dialysing fluid by diffusion. The purified blood is pumped back into the patient. | |
