Explain the mechanism of urine formation in human excretory system

Answer» The kidneys filter unwanted substances from the blood and produce urine to excrete them. There are three main steps of urine formation: glomerular filtration, reabsorption, and secretion. These processes ensure that only waste and excess water are removed from the body. Each kidney contains over 1 million tiny structures called nephrons. Each nephron has a glomerulus, the site of blood filtration. The glomerulus is a network of capillaries surrounded by a cuplike structure, the glomerular capsule (or Bowman’s capsule). As blood flows through the glomerulus, blood pressure pushes water and solutes from the capillaries into the capsule through a filtration membrane. This glomerular filtration begins the urine formation process.Inside the glomerulus, blood pressure pushes fluid from capillaries into the glomerular capsule through a specialized layer of cells. This layer, the filtration membrane, allows water and small solutes to pass but blocks blood cells and large proteins. Those components remain in the bloodstream. The filtrate (the fluid that has passed through the membrane) flows from the glomerular capsule further into the nephron. The glomerulus filters water and small solutes out of the bloodstream. The resulting filtrate contains waste, but also other substances the body needs: essential ions, glucose, amino acids, and smaller proteins. When the filtrate exits the glomerulus, it flows into a duct in the nephron called the renal tubule. As it moves, the needed substances and some water are reabsorbed through the tube wall into adjacent capillaries. This reabsorption of vital nutrients from the filtrate is the second step in urine creation. The filtrate absorbed in the glomerulus flows through the renal tubule, where nutrients and water are reabsorbed into capillaries. At the same time, waste ions and hydrogen ions pass from the capillaries into the renal tubule. This process is called secretion. The secreted ions combine with the remaining filtrate and become urine. The urine flows out of the nephron tubule into a collecting duct. It passes out of the kidney through the renal pelvis, into the ureter, and down to the bladder.

What is water of crystallization???

Answer» It is the molecule of water whose absorbed by environment
Water of crystallization is the fixed number of water molecules present in one formula unit of a salt. Or we can say water stoichiometrically bound into crystal. For example, chemical formula of hydrated copper sulphate is CuSO4.5H2O. Copper sulphate has 5 molecules of water of crystallisation. Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3.10H2O) contains ten molecules of water of crystallisation.
62141.

How is urine regulated in human body

Answer» The amount of urine largely depends on the amount of excess water or water reabsorbed and also dissolved wastes present in the body. When excess water in the body is more, large quantities of dilute urine is excreted out. On the other hand if the excess water is less, a small quantity of concentrated urine is excreted. When there is more quantity of dissolved wastes in the body, more quantity of water is required to excrete them. As a result of which, the urine produced increases. The amount of urine produced also depends on some other factors like:(a) Habitat of an organism(b) Anti-diuretic hormone (ADH).
62142.

How plant reproduce

Answer» Asexual mode of reproduction : In this mode of reproduction, plants can give rise to new plants without the involvement of male and female reproductive parts. In this mode, plants do not produce fruits and seeds. Asexual reproduction in plants can occur in a variety of forms:\tVegetative Propagation – A new plants are developed from a portion of the main plant ‘s body. It can be reproduced both naturally as well as by the artificial method of vegetative propagation. For example- Onion bulbs are produced natural propagation. Rose and banana plants are produced are artificial methods of propagation.\tBudding – In this mode of asexual reproduction new plants grow from an outgrowth or bud in the plant body.\tFragmentation – A new plants are developed from fragments of the parent plant.\tApomixis – it is the type of asexual reproduction in which seeds are formed and the embryo is developed without the fusion of male and female gametes. Citrus trees commonly use this method of asexual reproduction by using their seeds.Sexual mode of reproduction: This mode of reproduction involves the production of new plants through embryos developed by fusion of male and female gametes. In sexual reproduction, a fusion of male and female gametes produces fruits that contain seeds. The seeds give rise to new plants.A flower is the reproductive part of a plant which can either be unisexual or bisexual. Stamen is male reproductive part and pistil is a female reproductive part of a flower.Sexual reproduction divided it into three stages:\tPollination: A process in which the pollen grains are transferred across the anther to the stigma of the same flower or to flowers different plants. There are two types of pollination- self-pollination, and cross-pollination.\t\xa0Zygote formation: After the transfer of pollen grains, the male gamete is transferred down through the style of the pistil to the ovary where the male gamete is fused with female gamete to form a zygote.\tFruit and seed formation: After fertilization, a formed zygote is developed into an embryo. The ovary develops into fruit and ovules into seeds.
