How to find ph values |
| Answer» pH is the measure of power of Hydrogen in an aqueous solution having the values from 0 to 14. To find the pH of an aqueous solution first you need to\xa0know the concentration of the hydronium ion in moles per liter (molarity). The\xa0pH\xa0is then calculated using the expression:pH\xa0= - log [H3O+]. | |

Difference between homologous and the analogous? |
|
Answer» homologous- having similar structure but perform different function.Analogous-having dissimilar structure but perform same function. Thanks ? *Homologous Organs :-Homologous\xa0organs are those , with same body structure .The functions performed by them is different.Their appearances are different. They have a common ancestor.Eg : Forelimbs of humans, reptiles ( they have same structure, and different functions)*Analogous Organs :-Analogous organs are those , with different body structure .The functions performed by them is similar (same).Their appearances are also similar. They do not have a common ancestorEg : Wings of a bat ; and the wings of a butterfly ( same function, different structure) |

Why a solar cooker painted black from outside |
|
Answer» Black colour is a good conductor of heat so it helps in cooking faster Black colour absorbs the most sunlight and reflects back the least amount of it. Hence, solar cookers are painted black from outside. Black colour can absorb heat so solar cooker can absorb heat easily |

How hypermetropia can be corrected, show with the help of the diagram |
| Answer» Hypermetropia or farsightedness as it is known, can be corrected by using a converging (convex) lens of suitable power. The defect leads to the image of the close by objects being formed behind the retina of the eye. The covex lens focuses the rays of light from a close by\xa0object\xa0such that they fall on the retina.I don\'t know how to insert a picture, otherwise I\'d have attached the ray diagram. | |

Name the largest cell in human body |
|
Answer» Neuron Female ovum Cells are of different shapes and sizes. Different shapes and sizes are due to different functions performed by different cells. The smallest cell is Mycoplasma (PPLO-Pleuro pneumonia like organims). It is about 10 micrometer in size. The largest cells is an egg cell of ostrich. The longest cell is the nerve cell. The largest cell in the human body is female ovum. Smallest cell in the human body is male gametes, that is, sperm. |

Define is reproduction? Why is it important? |
|
Answer» Reproduction is the process by which a living organism is able to produce new individuals of its own kind. Unlike other life processes such as nutrition, respiration etc. It is not essential to maintain the life of an indivudual organism. But it is important for the existence and continuity of the species. Reproduction is important for the survival of all living things. Without a mechanism for reproduction, life would come to an end. |

What is meant by heating effect of current |
|
Answer» The phenomenon of production of heat in a resistor by the flow of an electric current through its called heating effect of electric current. When current flows through a conductor, heat energy is generated in the conductor. The heating effect of an electric current depends on three factors: The resistance, R of the conductor. A higher resistance produces more heat....The amount of current, I....The time, t for which current flows. |

Write characteristics of ionic compounds..?? |
| Answer» Some important characteristics of ionic compounds are as follows.1. Ionic compounds are hard and rigid due to strong forces of attraction between the oppositely charged ions.2. Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points, again due to strong forces of attraction between the ions.3. Ionic compounds dissolve easily in water. | |
| 66784. |
What are covalent bonds..?? |
|
Answer» Whenever a non metal combines with another non metal , sharing of electrons takes place between their atoms and a covalent bond is formed. The bond which is formed by the mutual sharing of electrons of two different atoms is called covalent bond. For example : oxygen molecule, methane. |

Why is tydel energy not likely to be a potential source of energy |
| Answer» The tidal energy is not likely to be a potential source of energy in future due to the following limitations:1. Less availability of suitable sites for building tidal barrages around the world.2. The rise and fall of sea water during high and low tides is not enough to generate electricity on a large scale.3. Start up costs to build a tidal energy plant is high. | |

Write about froth flotation..?? |
|
Answer» Froth flotation ---- it is specially meant for sulphide ores. Firstly water is qdded to ore then pine oil or eucalyptus oil is added and mixed they evaporate after some time as they are volatile. Excess of air is passed through it when it is boiled. The ore which is oil soluble mixes with the ore and forms froth or better called foam. This froth then comes to surface which van be then removed and the gangue remains below.........hope this helps you..... This method is employed for the concentration of sulphide ores. The finely powdered ore is added to water in a tank containing pine oil. The mixture is agitated by blowing a blast of air. The ore particle preferentially wetted by oil come to the surface with froth while impurities which are wetted with water become heavier and settle at the bottom. The oil froth containing mineral particles which floats on froth containing mineral particles which floats on the surface of the water can be skimmed off easily.Ex : The concentration of copper pyrites, galena are done by this method. Here concentration means removal of gangue from the ore and froth flotation is mainly used for sulphide ores .....ab clear hai?? Thanks but can you explain it more Froth flotation is used for concentration process of sulphide ores.... |

Function of capilliaries |
| Answer» Capillaries deliver nutrients and oxygen to tissues and remove the byproducts of cellular reactions, such as carbon dioxide and water. With the exception of the lungs, where the opposite is true, capillaries bring oxygenated blood, blood-carrying oxygen, to organs and carry away deoxygenated blood, blood with the oxygen removed. | |

what is the function of Petal and how it protect the flower |
|
Answer» Petals are sometimes very colourful and also scented so as to attract insects or any other creatures towards them so that these creatures become the medium for the transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma which will result in fertilisation. Petals: This layer lies just above the sepal layer....... They are often bright in colour as their main function is to attract pollinators such as insects, butterflies etc to the flower..... The petals are collectively known as the corolla...... |

Explain cleansiny reaction of soap. |
| Answer» \tWhen soap is dissolved in water, its hydrophobic ends attach themselves to dirt and remove it from the cloth.\tFirst, the molecules of soap arrange themselves in micelle formation and trap the dirt at the centre of the cluster.\tThese micelles remain suspended in water like particles in a colloidal solution.\tThe various micelles present in water do not come together to form a precipitate as each micelle repels the other because of the ion-ion repulsion.\tThus, the dust particles remain trapped in micelles (which remain suspended) and are easily rinsed away with water.\t\xa0Hence, soap micelles remove dirt by dissolving it in water. | |
